Miss C, if you let me be your running mate, my number one priority while in office, will be spending all of my time sitting under your desk, licking the carpet.

I'm just sayin.

Will you guys miss porn when they force the adult industry out of business? Just curious.

Miss_C I don't know how old you are, but if you are 28. Republicans have held the white house 20 of the 28 yrs.

The world didn't end. The country is still here and doing fine.

Porn is bigger than ever, porn will continue to move forward.

Porn grew more under w bush that any other president

Just so you guys know, the Democrats are the ones most strongly pushing to eliminate porn.

Their latest move is trying to get the FCC to create a free, completely porn-free nationwide wireless Internet connection network, which would of course be pretty devastating to the industry.

http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080811-congressional-dems-back-porn-free-wireless-broadband-network.html

You are exactly right feminist are just as radical about porn as the far right.

Finally got on here today. Glad to see some good discussion on this going on in here. Obviously Shag is talking out of his ass, anything to bash Obama. I find it hilarious that you were a supporter of Hillary Clinton, yet you're voting for a man and party with such striking contrasts to her political views and ideologies. In other words, you're petty and you're a pathetic fuck face. But I enjoy our shots at each other. I look forward to your response (by the way I'm still waiting on the link to that 80% number that you made up).

As for Sarah Palin, her experience in government is basically 3 1/2 years. She was the mayor of a town (Wasilla) of 5500, and she accumulated a debt of 20 million in the two years she was mayor. That's over $3500 per resident. After that she beat out a wildly unpopular incumbent, and it was a cakewalk over the Democrats since Alaska has been so traditionally Republican, to become Governor.

She's under investigation by the State Legislature for an abuse of power. The short story is that her ex-brother-in-law is a state trooper. After a nasty divorce and a custody battle that is still on going, Palin tried to get his boss to fire him. He refused, and instead she fired the boss. Then she hired a replacement who himself is involved in a sexual harassment case. When asked about it, he said he wasn't asked when hired, said he thought they knew. Said he would NOT step down from his position. The very next day, he stepped down with a $10k severence package from Palin. The guy who wouldn't fire her former brother-in-law? He didn't get a severence package.

People talk about Obama being inexperienced, like Shag. But this woman is WOEFULLY inexperienced. She's spent 3 1/2 years in public service. Obama spent many years as a community organizer, 8 years in the State Senate, and now is a U.S. Senator serving on many committees that deal with foreign policy and relations, as well as domestic issues (as pointed out by GOC).

Ask yourself this simple question. Why do we have a Vice President? In case anything happens to the President, right? McCain is 72 years old today (Happy Birthday), and has battled serious health conditions over the past couple years including a potentially deadly skin cancer. Those who endure what McCain did as a POW, often have shorter life spans because of it. McCain's likelihood of living 4-8 years can't be great, which means Palin is literally a heart beat away from the Presidency. Biden could step in right away, he's ran for POTUS before. A lot of people in Alaska wonder if Palin is in over her head as Governor, and you want her to be the Vice President? She has ZERO foreign policy experience.

McCain attacks Obama for being inexperienced, and then he goes and hires someone with even less experience than Obama (yes, she has more executive experience, but that's because neither Obama, McCain, or Biden have ever had executive experience, it's a moot point).

Also last month when asked about the prospects of VP, she said she didn't even know what the VP does. You want someone who doesn't even know what the VP does to have that job? Are you kidding me?

Eight Is Enough.

edit: oh yea, and if you want to compare educations. Barack Obama graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Political Science with special interest in International Relations. Then he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. He was President of the Harvard Law Review and then taught Constitutional Law.

Sarah Palin? A Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Idaho.

Then again, maybe we should be debating her vs Biden since they're the VPs. But I just thought the experience bit was too fucking hypocritical to pass up.

sorry if I don't support the white president. I guess that means i'm voting for the black guy just because he's black. I can't possible support the black guy.

edit: i've been a democrat since I was old enough to know the difference (probably 13). Sorry if I'm not so quick to jump ship because i'm a bitter asshole.

There's all the talk about McCain is Bush's third term. Well, I'd rather have that - an Obama administration is actually Carter's second term. That really is a losing proposition.

Yes, let's compare the political atmosphere of today to 30 years ago, and just make a broad comparison so we can link Obama to an unpopular Presidency. Please, tell me how Obama is like Carter. If Americans had listened to Carter 30 years ago, we wouldn't be in this energy crisis right now.

edit: and I always appreciate how Republicans in this election will say something ridiculous, and when they get called out on it and proven wrong, they'll change the subject, i.e. like Shagdog insinuating i'm voting for Barack out of some sort of "white guilt".

Actually I asked Zap to be my running mate while we were in happy hour, but I probably have a few seats on the Supreme Court that I could hand out. No problemo. You're all invited to be in my cabinet and such.

No, I'm just "linking" what will be a failed administration if given a chance to an actual failed administation of the same party.

Oh, and Americans did listen to Carter, and they intelligently voted him out of office.

Jimmy Carter was doomed when the hostage rescue failed - if he had rescued the hostages, he likely would have been swept into office merely by a surge of patriotism. That likely would have trumped the failures of his term of office.

No offense.... I was not at my best when I posted all of that crap.... It was in the middle of the Lindsay Davenport/Marion Bartoli match....

I shouldn't post in the midst of such tense situations....

I would probably trade in my wife for Marion.....................

Agreed, Harvey. However, I have this feeling that both sides are going to start sniping at the other on the "issue" of experience. That will do nothing but alienate voters on both sides. However, I think the Republicans have more to lose on the issue unless they unearth some previously unknown skeleton from either Obama's or Biden's closet.

So what if Sarah Palin is Alaska's "commander in chief"? Does she know anything about the conflict in Georgia? What about NATIONAL domestic issues? These are not the types of issues to learn "on the job".

fine Veni. Then I'm sure you have no problem with me saying that McCain isn't just the 3rd term of Bush, he's also an extension of James Buchanon, the most experienced President in United States history, and widely considered one of the worst Presidents, if not THE worst.

See how easy it is to make a simple jump like that? How about you try and prove why McCain is better for this country instead of making baseless comparisons.

But you guys talk about this shit like it matters. You bring up shady things about the candidates, they're politicians, of course they're shady. They all have dirt on them.

Ron Paul all day, every day, fuck y'all.

and u will "prove" why Obama is better????

We can both say why we think each candidate is superior, and point out all the issues we think we "own," and then refute each other's claims, but it will be the same shit presented 24/7 on TV, web, and print.

Sorry, but I'm not that interested in debating u for no good reason, which will result in no outcome or change in either of our opinions.

Anyway, I'm tired, long day, longer tomorrow. Goodnight.
